Towards the end of the 70s the Jewish Community of Rome asked Marc Chagall to design the windows for the new Museum of Rome.
The famous artist replied, "I'm too old. Eva Fischer lives in Rome: ask her".
Thanks to a meticulous job that lasted until 1981, the mosaics composed of hundreds of colored pieces together with lead gave life to these six windows. The "Blessing" - moment of silence for the particular Jewish family -, "Jerusalem", then three biblical cities and finally the oldest Jewish community in the world: "Rome."
